About The Moorish Science Temple of America

The Moorish Science Temple of America (M.S.T.A.) is a federally recognized ecclesiastical government trust, operating under recorded Trust No. 10105905, originally established in 1913 A.D. by Prophet Noble Drew Ali, and officially recorded in Cook County, Illinois Republic in 1928.

We serve as the Consulate of the United States for the Moroccan Empire, authorized to carry out consular, religious, and governmental functions on behalf of Moorish American nationals and their descendants. Our lawful authority is affirmed by:

  • The Treaty of Peace and Friendship (1786/1836) between the United States and Morocco
  • The Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution (Article VI)
  • The Religious Freedom Restoration Act (42 U.S.C. § 2000bb-1)
  • Our original trust deed recorded under Moorish Divine Law and Ecclesiastical Governance

The M.S.T.A. functions as a nation-state within the Union, preserving the sovereign, cultural, and spiritual rights of Moorish Americans through treaty enforcement, spiritual guidance, and lawful governance.

The Moorish Science Temple of America is a federal ecclesiastical government and consular institution lawfully established to serve the spiritual, cultural, and civic needs of the Moorish American People.

As successors to Prophet Noble Drew Ali, we operate under Divine Law, international treaty, and public trust, carrying forward our sacred duty to uphold peace, justice, and lawful self-governance.


📜 GOVERNMENTAL PURPOSE

This Temple fulfills the essential duties of government as follows:

1. Ecclesiastical Governance

  • Maintenance of religious law and doctrine
  • Preservation of the Holy Koran of the Moorish Science Temple
  • Protection of spiritual and moral order under God

2. National Identity and Status Verification

  • National identification documents
  • Affidavits of Moorish nationality and Indigenous status
  • Recordkeeping of members and tribal descendants

3. Consular Functions (Treaty Authority)

  • Consular registration and representation under the Treaty of Peace and Friendship (1787/1836)
  • Community protection and treaty-based assistance
  • International acknowledgment of jurisdictional authority

4. Public Education and Cultural Stewardship

  • Teaching of Moorish history, law, civics, and divine principles
  • Preservation of historical records, trusts, and teachings of Noble Drew Ali
  • Public dissemination of lawful instructions

5. Justice and Mediation

  • Private dispute resolution under Moorish law
